Graduate Scholarship Cohort Program

The Graduate Scholarship Program was created to address the staffing needs in critical shortage areas and to improve the delivery of service to New York City Public School students. The scholarship program provides full tuition payments to eligible students enabling them to obtain New York State certification and to seek a rewarding career in education. This program prepares participants to serve in the areas of Mathematics (grades 7-12), Biology (grades 7-12), Earth Science (grades 7-12), Chemistry (grades 7-12), Physics (grades 7-12), and English as a Second Language (all grades). This scholarship program offers uncertified candidates a traditional path to a Master's degree in a traditional teaching shortage field. Candidates accepted into any of these scholarship programs will be placed in a cohort which will allow them to progress through the program together, enabling them to build an internal support system with each other. Upon completion of the program, candidates are required to teach in the New York City Public Schools for a period of four years.

To be considered for acceptance into the Scholarship Cohort Program for the Summer 2007 semester, you must complete the online application and submit all required documentation within 10 business days from the date the application was filed:
